Handmade Pocket Oratory

I wanted to make my own amulet or talisman. After studying them I found Pocket Oratories through Pinterest. They were popular in the 1800’s for people traveling far from their homes. They are like a mini altar or shrine with icons and art.

I made mine using fake leather from Joann Fabrics. Felt in off-white, green embroidery floss, a St. Michael medal and miniature prayer cards.
